70% of UK adults use mobiles (and music players) to wake them up

I haven’t used an alarm clock for, gosh, I don’t know, maybe 10 years? In fact I think the last time I actually remember being woken up by a device other than my mobile phone was back at school when I had the radio come on at 730am.

According to this survey, published in today’s Telegraph by hotel group, Travelodge, 70% of adults use mobile phones or MP3/Music players to wake them up in the morning.

I’m willing to bet that almost every reader of SMS Text News uses their mobile phone alarm or a calendar entry to wake them up.

Am I right? Or are you all using 1970s style ring-a-ding retro alarm clocks?
