8 MWC tickets available for MIR readers, thanks to BlackBerry [all gone]

It’s that time of year again! Mobile World Congress is fast approaching. You can STILL get a hotel. You can STILL get a cheap flight. But there’s the small matter of the €649 ticket entry cost, right?

Well kudos to BlackBerry. They’ve got 8 tickets for me to give away to Mobile Industry Review readers. These are standard entry MWC tickets allowing you access to the Exhibition itself, the GSMA seminars and the App Planet.

It is precisely what you need if you’d like to meet the thousands of other attendees.

Now, here’s the deal. Last time we did this, the tickets went within hours, then the further batch went within minutes. So you do need to be quick. I’m sorry I’m publishing this at 11pm — that’s just because I got back from Paris 5 minutes ago.

To qualify for a ticket, you or your firm must be actively engaged in mobile development. Or you must be a mobile developer.

Further, you also need to be either actively engaged or seriously considering developing on the BlackBerry platform. Enough to pop along to the App Planet BlackBerry developer day on the Tuesday of MWC. This isn’t a condition from BlackBerry, rather it’s a request I’m making because I think it’s only fair. If you’re allocated a ticket, please do go along with an open mind and talk to the chaps from BlackBerry about their platform.

How do you get a ticket?

Simply head over and fill in the form. There are four fields. Name, Email, Company and an ‘about you’ field. That’s where I need you to give me a sentence or two demonstrating your mobile developer credentials. You can be based anywhere. There’s no location restriction.

Please only request a ticket if you’re seriously, seriously going to come to the event.

The 8 tickets will be allocated on a first-come, first-serve basis — after I’ve sanitised the entries by removing the irrelevant/spam ones.

I’ll email everyone who’s been successful right-away.

See you in Barcelona!

Oh, and if you’re going, you should give our Seven Steps to MWC Success series a quick glance.

[Update: All tickets have been allocated!]
