Apple's Leopard makes Bluetooth modem connections a dream

Apple's Leopard makes Bluetooth modem connections a dream
I flashed my laptop the other week with an entirely new install of Apple’s
Leopard OS and I haven’t yet installed my 3UK USB modem drivers. So I’m on
the train. And not yet able to use the 3UK modem. Ergo, I thought I’d try
out bluetooth with my Nokia E61i and see if I could get a data connection.

Well. It’s easy. VERY easy. I was completely surprised and elated.

I discovered the phone with the Apple wizard. It asked me for the APN and
username/password for the handset’s data connection. I remembered that and
typed them in.

I took a chance.

‘Is that it?’ I wondered, ‘What other gubbins do I need to configure?’

I thought it was worth doing a test. I hit the connect button.

Wooosh. Connected.

Er.

I didn’t quite believe it. I loaded up Safari and tried reaching SMS Text
News — the site arrived quickly. Wow.

Nice and easy. I love it!
