Are you ready to become Nokia's UK advocacy manager?

I came across what could be a phenomenally exciting job for one of the readers of Mobile Industry Review: The opportunity to join one of the world’s leading digital creative agencies (Wunderman) to spearhead their advocacy work with their huge client, Nokia. (Or, well, Microsoft, now.)

The job role popped up on my LinkedIn this week and I had a chat with Wunderman’s Head of UK Recruitment, Paul Copley, to find out more.

Your job will be to essentially use activities which are underpinned by content marketing to get the message out about Nokia Lumia. I reckon you’ll need to be wickedly media savvy and you’ll need to have a fundamental appreciation for technology and particularly the power and potential of the Lumia device range (especially their 41-megapixel camera monster).

They’re not looking for a geek necessarily though. Indeed I reckon the role might suit someone from a PR or media background who’s looking to make a jump.

Further advocacy programme highlights include, Great British Chef (Nokia curated event to showcase new app with food bloggers and renowned chefs) and Nokia’s Street Art Tour (blogger tour documenting London street art using Lumia devices, led by influential urban artist).

The opportunity:

We have taken Nokia advocacy from infancy and cultivated a loyal and engaged community of Lumia lovers. Our ambition is to take the programme much further to become the benchmark for advocacy within Nokia’s global markets. It’s a big challenge and we’re looking for the right person to help us achieve it.

As Advocacy and Influencer Programme Lead, you’ll work on an account driven by relationships and experiences; and delivered via content marketing. We want our clients to be able to live in the moment and be relevant to their fans, whilst acquiring new ones.

So, about you:

You’re a fan of consumer technology and relish a role that puts you at the centre of multiple communities. An understanding of how to best position standout brands amongst the stiff competition vying for influencers’ attentions is essential, as is the strategic know-how and industry contacts to get the Nokia story, and it’s range into the hands and minds of the right groups.
