Argogroup launches mobile test & monitoring services in 54 countries

It’s all very well knocking up a ringtone or a new service for your customers, but it’s rather useful it it works first time, thus testing/monitoring services such as Argogroup’s Mosaic are worth a look.  Ok, so MMS on my new handset works here in London – but does it work in Cannes?  😉  Who you gonna call?

Argogroup Mosaic offers global roaming testing and monitoring, supporting 2G (GSM, GPRS), 3G (UMTS including HSDPA), CDMA and fixed-line networks. The managed service enables mobile operators to test services including voice calls, SMS and MMS, WAP and video streaming from 54 locations worldwide.

I really like this line from the news release (bolded the important bit!):

Mobile operators are ever-committed to delivering rich content to their subscribers and, as an increasing number of content aggregators and provider develop their mobile channels, today’s discerning mobile users expect new applications to work first time – and work well. Failure to deliver quality sees users simply looking elsewhere for their desired content or service, seriously impacting revenues and increasing costly customer churn. It is imperative for services to be thoroughly tested pre- and post-launch.

I had an anonymous tip sent in the other day that claimed a major UK network has a policy of sending an intern to France with a few new phones to ‘check they work’ for a day.  I didn’t publish it as I couldn’t quite believe it (or verify it!).

If it’s true though, save the intern from having to get on the Eurostar every three weeks and hire Argo.
