BenQ: "Game over man, GAME OVER!!"

Ailing mobile handset manufacturer BenQ is pulling out of Europe following what it admitted were “unsustainable losses”.
BenQ only bought the European operations last year, when Siemens abandoned its handset ambitions and sold its assets to the Taiwan-based company.
Siemens effectively paid BenQ €50m to take the poorly performing business off its hands. But since then, its fortunes have failed to improve.

Did you catch my cunning quote from Aliens there in the title? Well, playing with the same metaphor, the smokin’ automatic machine guns in the tunnels outside the BenQ European HQ have run out of ammo. The aliens are swarming the tunnels now and up in the BenQ compound, the team can hear the thumping on the blastdoors as the aliens desperately try to get through their defences.

BenQ’s Bishop (the robot guy who quite possibly could be a baddie, but turns out not to be) has already got to the satellite box on the other side of the BenQ headquarters and has guided the shuttle down from the mothership…. RUN! And watch out for sticky stuff — it means there’s an alien aboard.

Bit of a shame for BenQ. I was just about turning my attention to them. D’ya know what I mean? I wonder if you were doing the same. I’d seen their handsets in the shops. I’d seen new handset announcements now and again and I had mentally begun to accept and welcome them into the marketplace…………..
