Bizarre: Tomi is censored by Mint Directors Conference

Ready for a bizarre piece of news? Tomi Ahonen, the mobile industry commentator and author, was due to speak at the Mint Directors Conference this week.

We’re not talking ‘mints’ as in sweets, we’re talking mints as in ‘coins’.

Tomi was invited to speak to 500 Mint Directors from around the world, but just 15 minutes before he was due to go in stage, he was mysteriously prevented from actually presenting.

Weird.

Have a read of Tomi’s description of the strange behaviour of these Mint guys. It beggars belief.

I wonder if they can’t hack the possibility of mobile money sidelining their business? It certainly looks that way.

Given that the chap who did the censoring (Ian Bennett) is head of the Canadian Mint and that Canada’s wireless industry is about as backward as they come, should we be surprised?

Poor show, though. Very poor show.

Do explain yourself Mr Bennett. This is him below. Read all about him on the Canadian Mint website.
