Bring Your Social Network To The Club With BuzzD

buzzd
Social networks are cool and all, but they’re typically little more than a virtual world, like Second Life, where the interaction with the real world is often limited. BuzzD is a new social networking/local search service that’s aiming to change that. Launching this week in partnership with Flavorpill, a website offering localised cultural events listings.

BuzzD uses SMS and Mobile Internet to connect users to the local night life, allowing them to send quick texts rating the quality of drinks, girl-to-guy ratio, and other features of different night clubs and venues. They can also log onto the site and view the current stats of local clubs, as reported by other users. Currently BuzzD doesn’t have GPS support, so users must manually select their location, but that’s one of the future improvements planned.

Helio is expected to be the first US Carrier to jump on board with this, with BuzzD’s founder, Nihal Mehta stating he’d like to see it available through all of the carriers in the future. Nokia Nseries is also sponsoring the launch, seeing it as an awesome initiative to help people connect and share with their mobile devices.
