Casio G'zOne Tank Phone For Verizon's CDMA Network
A few days ago I wrote about Motorola being the only ones making tank-like cellphones. I stand corrected. There is a handset from Casio, the G’zOne (pronounced ‘jeez One’, apparently) that runs on Verizon’s CDMA network and is able to take quite the abuse. Over at MobileBurn, they took the G’zOne, dunked it in a bowl of water, FROZE IT, and then ran water over it again to thaw it out. The phone was called periodically throughout the tests to ensure that it was still working, which is incredible. You really should click through to watch the video, it’s quite incredible.
If you’re not wanting to suffer with the antique iDen network, then you should really check out the Casio G’zOne. Wish Nokia would make something like this. (Edit: they have, the 5500, which is even a smartphone. However, it’s lacking an important frequency for the U.S., sadly).
