Cellblock.com: Instant, collaborative mobile photo & video blogging
Have you checked out Cellblock.com? It’s a wickedly useful blog / website widget that allows you to send pictures or video to directly to it. TOTALLY simple to use. You just email your pictures/photos from any device to the widget’s unique address and you’re done.
This is what it looks like on your website:
(I minimised it a little — by default it’s about the same size as a Youtube video player).
It’s ultra easy to use. In fact, as the Cellblock Cheat Sheet reports
If you can send an email, you are over-qualified to use Cellblock
Heh. Love it!
I just had to quote some more text — the writing is wicked. I like how everything is explained so simply:
If you’re like most people, you’re probably not a joiner. Whenever you sign up to be a part of something, it seems like you wind up on some finance committee, organizing a fund raiser or receiving unwanted emails. Getting in on Cellblock is nothing like that. In fact, unless you want to create your own (completely free and great fun) cellblocks, you don’t need to sign up for anything. Just take out your cellphone, snap a picture or video, and send it to the email address of the cellblock of interest. Borrowing an expression from David Letterman, if you can’t do this, you probably can’t operate a pocket.
I also like this viewpoint:
A Cellblock is an online photo / video album with its own email address
– Each cellblock gets its own unique email address
– You can mix PIX and FLIX in the same cellblock all you want
– You can embed any cellblock you want in your own site
– You can copy any cellblock URL and paste it wherever you want (such as an email) and send it
– When the recipient clicks on the link, the appropriate cellblock will play for them
I’m going to see if I can get one setup for SMS Text News… standby…
