MD.Voice is an innovative service available on mobile devices to analyse the user’s voice, detecting issues that might indicate issues such as larynx cancer or vocal cord paralysis (which Larry Page recently announced he was suffering). The tool analyses voice recordings, suggesting medical intervention when necessary and providing exercises for the user to follow.

Although performers and recording artists stand to lose most financially from the loss of their voice, the team behind MD.Voice also suggest it could be used by anyone required to speak publicly regularly, such as teachers.

The technology, proven already in military environments, is now being commercialised and was pitched during an ‘alpha pitch’ for early-stage startups.
