Dubai Government tests receiving text payments
I got a parking ticket the other day here in San Francisco. Bit of an arse. But, you know, I didn’t quite understand the parking deal. It looked like free parking. I had to pay the bill online though — an easy process — but I’d have liked the ability to Obopay or Paypal the payment. It wasn’t a fun or enjoyable process. I didn’t spend minutes hovering over the site wondering whether or not to purchase. I got no value from getting the ticket. I just wanted it done. Interestingly, I wanted it fixed there-and-then. Not when I got home. I didn’t want the arse of having to remember to pay the ticket.
I did. But, you know, it was hanging over me the whole day. Hardly a big deal. But news that the Dubai Government’s looking at sorting out a mobile payment option will be welcome around the state I’m sure.
