Everything Everywhere is hunting for a Social Media Data Manager
For those of you reading who’re seriously into social media — I know there’s quite a few of you — you might be interested to have a look at the job spec for Everything Everywhere’s new Social Media Data Manager role.
It pays £40k, plus car allowance, plus bonus, plus flexible benefit options — and, you’ll get your pick of mobile services. (Indeed, chances are you’ll be one of the first 4G users in the UK.)
It’s based in London and, although I haven’t been there (yet!), it’s likely to be one of the coolest places to work. You know those Social Media Command Centers you occasionally read about? Think: The situation room from the Whitehouse, only with Twitter and Facebook updates scrolling by. Think banks of super-thin 50″ flat-panels showing fast-moving global-social-graphy stuff.
If you’ve been thinking about a change, maybe this is the time to act. You’ll be working with the famous Conor Maples who practically created the company’s social media strategy from zero. (Conor is the Senior Social Strategy Manager).
Here’s the role overview:
Developing a deeper understanding of our customers is not just about listening to what they tell us, but also what they say about us. With that in mind, we’re currently bringing together a dedicated Social Hub team within our Digital team to monitor, coordinate, manage and evaluate our social media efforts and feed the intelligence they generate back into the business.
As part of that team, we are looking for an online buzz monitoring/listening guru and want you to become our organisational expert in all things related to social data, the insights it provides and the benefits it can bring. Whether that be online buzz monitoring during a crisis, spotting new business development opportunities or explaining to senior management why a single Tweet can be so important. In short, you’ll help us appreciate the power of social media and engage with it in a positive and proactive way.
To meet the challenge, you’ll need wide proven expertise in, and a genuine passion for, the social media space. And because telecoms sector is at the heart of the social media revolution, you’ll need a broader understanding of industry itself. Just as important as your practical knowledge however, will be your ability to share the benefits of social media right across the business. So powerful presentation skills – and strong story-telling abilities, in particular – are an absolute must
