EXCLUSIVE: Attractive girl with a shocker of a handset
Now, I was at a Christmas Party recently – which one will remain nameless – when I met two people from a technology services provider. The chap was a handsome stallion of a man, whilst his colleague was an attractive European lady.
We got talking phones and the chap discussed his Blackberry Pearl that, from memory, he rated highly. I asked if he had a personal (non-work) handset. Yes, he said, but he’d just recently lost it.
Conversation turned to his colleague – she’s dressed smartly, stunning red Armani frames, swish earings and so on. I ask what handset she uses personally (she also has a work Blackberry Pearl).
There’s a bit of consternation when it emerges that she has a really old Nokia pay-as-you-go. It’s in her bag so I try guessing model numbers. I don’t for a minute think of the correct model – you see, looking at her, I would have expected her to be carrying a RAZR or a funky Samsung, or perhaps a new Sony Ericsson K800 – maybe an LG Chocolate?
Not a bit of it.
When she finally went to her bag to retrieve the handset, I was shocked to behold a really old, battered Nokia 3300 series. Even my mum, who is now a RAZR user, had a newer Nokia than this one. It’s ancient.
The lady is surprised at my obvious horror 😉
I was fascinated as to why she had taken great efforts to select nice, quality accessories to compliment her outfit yet was sporting a shocking handset. Manufacturers have spent a substantial amount creating fashionable models to really appeal to the female species – so it was quite fascinating to pose an array of questions to her about her mobile preferences.
She was kind enough to let me snap an image of her gorgeous Armani specs with her phone!
