Exclusive! Truphone for Apple iPhone coming soon
It’s long been rumoured — and oft hinted — but now I can confirm, direct from the company’s founder, James Tagg, that Truphone are launching their VOIP service for the Apple iPhone.
It will be available to users a little while after it’s official launch at the upcoming Apple Developer’s Conference (although, if you go along, you’ll be able to see the Truphone team demonstrating the application working).
I saw a screenshot and, as I suspected, it looks wicked and it’ll function just as you expect.
Of course, it’s not just a smoothly operating interface that users can look forward to. Although Truphone have done everything they can to make the install process on a Nokia as nice as possible, the install process on the iPhone will put everything to shame. I suspect (although I haven’t confirmed) that it’ll install in one or two clicks. Or touches. That kind of direct immediacy from hundreds of thousands of new, curious 2G and 3G iPhone users could be just what Truphone needs to push their growth ahead.
Bring it on!
