Facebook for Android demonstrates platform's consumer credentials

That’s it then. Facebook for Android is coming soon. An official Facebook client will apparently (if rumours are correct — so says Phandroid) hit the Android Market this week.

And this is very, very good news for the Android platform.

If you thought Android was going to be a reasonably interesting but ‘techie’ platform sitting on the sidelines of the mobile industry, think again.

Soon I’ll be able to buy a £49 Android phone with decent specs from Tesco. To go with their rather innovative £30/month unlimited text/calls/data plan.

The mobile revolution is continuing and it’s gathering pace fast.
