Despite encouraging subscriber acquisition trends, NRJ Mobile struggles with revenues and is expected to face difficulties in making its business profitable this year. Its €7 million turnover for Q4 2006 means that its customers’ ARPU has been close to only €8/month during this quarter. In comparison, the average ARPU for the French mobile market was close to €36/month.
Darren caught this one and, like me I’m sure, thought, ‘You what? 8 EUROS? 8 EUROS A USER? A MONTH?
Deary me. Deeeeeeeeary me. This definitely gives you an insight into some elements of the mobile industry. Whilst Vodafone here in the UK are racking friends of mine for hundreds of pounds a month, poor NRJ is sat at the back lucky to get three or four quid a month. That needs to change, eh?
I wonder what Fresh Mobile’s ARPU is.
