Get a Simon Cowell Gringtone and support Childline

Alfie dropped me a note to tell me about Childline’s new service, Gringtones.

It was announced in a newsletter from Childline that Alfie forwarded me. Here’s the gossip:

I’m delighted to announce that celebrity supporters, Ant and Dec and Simon Cowell have given ChildLine a very special gift. They have taken time out of their busy schedules to record a mobile ringtone in their own, unique style that you can download to your mobile phone. They are called “Gringtones” which stands for gift ringtones for ChildLine and they are available to download at www.gringtones.co.uk priced £3.

4500 children try to ring ChildLine each day but tragically, we only have the resources to answer half the calls. The money raised by these ringtones will enable many more desperate children to get through. We need your continued support if we are to protect vulnerable children and give them the future they deserve.

Once, an abused child who called ChildLine wrote to me saying “That kind, caring voice on the phone was all it took to transform my life.” With your support, we could transform many, many more. This is a not for profit initiative. All work has been gifted by external organisations and I would like to thank everyone who has kindly donated their time and resources for free.

I’ve gone and downloaded one of the Simon Cowell ones so soon, if you call me, Simon will be announcing that. Heh.
