Get an Apple iPhone for €1

It looks like T-Mobile taken Apple boss Steve Jobs’ promise the 3G iPhone will be half as cheap as its predecessor and run with it – the operator will be selling the new device to its German subscribers for as little as €1, according to Reuters.

Obviously, for that kind of price, customers will be able to get their hands on the 8GB version of the iPhone and will have to sign up to a hefty monthly plan to boot, with Reuters quoting a subscription of €69. Still, given that iPhone users tend to be vociferous consumers of mobile data too, if T-Mobile makes the data allowance a generous one then the deal needn’t necessarily be too painful and at €1, it’s almost certain to get a lot of consumers rushing down to T-Mobile stores next month.
