GoIP Global launches GoIP SMS Platform

Picture 22I couldn’t have picked GoIP Global out of a line-up a few seconds ago — I’ve never come across them before. However I quite like their branding. Rather innovative frontpage, eh? That’s it there. Just a logo, a bit of text and an email address… funky 😉

GoIP Global, Inc., an Interactive Mobile Media Company, announced today they have launched a marketing effort for their new GoIP SMS Platform. The service is now being Beta tested for several Fortune 500 companies.

SMS continues to be a phenomenal success and is the quickest and easiest form of mobile communication. Portio Research reports indicate that SMS traffic has not flattened out in mature markets, but continues to boom worldwide, while the US market has grown much faster than expected. The SMS market continues to be fueled by new subscribers. The worldwide population is expected to rise to 7 billion by 2012, and predictions are mobile subscribers will also increase to 4.81 billion.

Mitchell Leiser, GoIP Strategist, commented, “The Mobile Marketing industry is growing at a rapid pace with many enterprises exploring how to benefit from its connectivity. For example, Starbucks started a campaign to remind customers to take a coffee break. Just text the word ‘Break’ to 697289 and Starbucks will text you a daily reminder to take that much-needed coffee break. Another example is Tic Tac’s: simply text the word ‘Tic Tac’ to 47624 from your mobile phone and one enters to win a free trip. We are sitting on an outstanding opportunity, as large as email was several years ago.”

I’ll be interested to see what they come up with.
