Good Mobile Messaging and Three UK

So there’s a slight hitch to my bring-it-on-Three plan. I am swapping to Three. Three will be my network of choice.

I actually downloaded Google Maps to my N73 whilst whizzing along the M3 at exactly 70mph the other day. I wasn’t doing the driving, obviously. But it downloaded in ultra smart, ultra fast, ultra quick record time. It should in that M3 corridor anyway. But I tell you, Three and data. Smart.

And they’re ultra shit hot when it comes to making sure you can transmit a 4k voice call without having to resort to RabbitPower®.

I swapped over to Three on Saturday and was about to do a huge blog about how wickedly impressed I was…………………….

……..when I completed installing Good Mobile Messaging on the E61 and got this error message:

Sorry, Good is not compatible with the Three network

Or, if I can remember correctly, I think it might have been ‘Three is not compatible with Good’.

Now, this was true. Do you remember back to the heady summer months of last year, when I was going nuts with my totally restrictive Three internet access? You could only view the sites they specified and so on? Well. That’s obviously no more — particularly for X-Series users such as myself.

But it seems that Good hasn’t updated their application to take account of this, I don’t think.

I’ve emailed them to ask. I emailed a chap there by the name of Mike. Let’s see if he responds.

So without Good Mobile Messaging, I just canny do it. Just canny do it captinnnnn. I hope to have this resolved shortly so I can be 100% Three.

Meantime I’m using my Three N73 to make my important calls.

Next question: To port, or not to port? I wonder.
