Here's how to handle the press section connectivity at an industry keynote

The above video features me standing and hovering around the press section at BlackBerry DevCon in San Francisco two weeks ago. You’ll see as I pan around that every single press chap is seated in a dedicated section, with a table in front of him/her. Obviously, as they’ll usually want their laptop out and ready.

At each seat there is a power plug and a network cable offering fixed (read: guaranteed) internet connectivity.

Everybody else in the auditorium was able to use the standard DevCon (free) WiFi. The media, however, were using their own segmented, dedicated internet connection.

Net result? No complaints. Every member of the media is connected and therefore content. They’re able to live blog, live tweet and stream video up and down as they wish.

This is what Nokia needed last week.
