I-Mode on o2 - I bought an NEC
I went out to the o2 store at Lakeside Shopping Centre today and got a £49.95 NEC i-mode handset. I thought, since no one’s sent me one (unlike Alfie over at Moblog UK who seems to be drowning in them), I should get one and have a play about with it. Either the handset is a load of rubbish or it’s subsidised by o2 … it’s a super dooper price! £49 pounds? Wow!
I haven’t yet played with it but I’m looking forward to seeing it first hand instead of just ‘knowing’ about it.
Also: I slipped in Carphone Warehouse and accidentally bought a Motorola SLVR L7. I know. I don’t know what I was thinking. Slim. Shiny. Weird keyboard. Who knows, it could be quite fun. I was thinking about some sort of RAZR while I was at it. I stopped myself. I ALMOST bought another Sony Ericsson W550i. I tell you, if there had been an enterprising chap serving me, he could have upsold me a few times over. I could have been persuaded to take a Sony Ericsson K750i as well.
Ever since I have converted over to Apple, the fact I can synchronise everything with bluetooth in a few seconds means I am handset agnostic. I can now select a handset appropriate for the day’s activities! Wearing a suit? SLVR. Want to do a bit of music and some solid web browsing and Mobilegluing? The Sony W550i. In the mood to wind myself up with Windows Mobile? The MDA Pro. Fancy going retro? The Sony V800.
