Interested in Mobile Money? Check out Tim Green's new site

Tim Green is a proper journalist. He is incredibly well respected across the mobile world and as Editor of Mobile Entertainment magazine (and later, the website), he had a front row seat for the iPhonisation of the industry. Previous to iPhone, I think it was fair to say the field Mobile Entertainment was limited to ringtones, apps that sort-of worked (but not on your phone) and 60×60 pixel wallpapers that cost 3 quid a pop.

Tim steered the publication to dominate the marketplace. Getting the attention of Tim and his team meant you were doing something right. Oh, like a professional journalist he’d always respectfully listen. But getting him to sit and fire questions at you was a good indication your idea had legs.

Tim has recently left Mobile Entertainment and he leaves the site in good hands. He’s decided to go it alone — and when I first heard this, I thought it was brilliant news.

The new project is Mobile Money Revolution. As you might guess, Tim is focusing on the stupefyingly massive field of mobile commerce.

The site launched last week with this introduction post (although there’s already quite an archive on there).

If you are even somewhat interested in this field, I strongly recommend following Tim (@TimGreen64) and putting the site into your feeds — or subscribing to the newsletter.

Every success Tim. I’ve added the site to my Google Reader!
