The Metro newspaper highlights Android's security problem

I did a quick podcast talking about the UK’s Metro newspaper frontpage this morning. It reads “Hacking alert on Google phones“. In the audio embed above, I argue that if the rest of the mainstream media picks up the story and runs with it, this could be very bad news for the Android platform in the consumer mindset.

This, of course, is assuming that the average consumer equates ‘Android’ with the handset brand they’re considering buying (e.g. HTC, Sony, Samsung). But then again, we all love a good scare story so one would imagine most readers will be studying today’s headline with interest to check if they’re at risk.
