Is there room for independent mobile "stockists" anymore?

This spam text today prompted me to wonder if there is much room in the market for “independent stockists” anymore. Surely there isn’t much they can offer compared to me going direct to EE?

And while I’m at it, how is a text message like this meant to persuade me to even look at your business? Don’t give me a phone number. Come on! Update your spam. At least give me a link to your website…
