Job opportunity: Become the Recombu Mobile Editor

Andy Lim — the man at mobile news site Recombu — is taking a step back to focus on some other key responsibilities. Which means he needs to hire a super smart editor to replace him. He’s on the look out for the right person. That could be you?
I don’t think you need to have worked in an editorial environment before — for instance, I think a lot of PR people I know would do a super job at the role. But you’ll need to demonstrate to Andy and the Recombu team that you’ve got the skills to deliver the goods.
I can’t underline what a brilliant possible opportunity this is for someone who’s pretty excited about the mobile industry and who wants to lead a publication such as Recombu. These opportunities don’t come along often.
Here’s the overview:
Editor: £28k-30k
After 12 months of fantastic growth we are able to offer the role of Editor to help us drive the site even further. We are looking for an experienced Editor who can take Recombu to the next level of its evolution. The role will involve managing the existing writers, developing and implementing content strategies, editing news and reviews content, creating content and attending events (trade fairs, interviews, etc.)
About you
The Editor needs to be an inspiring and driven personality, you will have the ability to grow and develop the editorial team, drive the evolution of Recombu.com (with consideration for the brand values) whilst being commercially astute enough to recognise revenue generating opportunities. you should be comfortable operating face to face within the sector and be evangelical in delivering the Recombu story to manufacturers, suppliers and readers etc.
Responsibilities
– Managing, coaching and developing a team of writers
– Sourcing and writing exclusive news
– Editing copy
– Providing input into the features process, from ideas generation or the writing of features.
– Leadership skills
