Lincolnshire tourist board uses text messaging

If you ever find yourself in Lincolnshire with not a lot to do, you can now get ideas and suggestions by sending ‘goodtaste’ to 84118 (courtesy of TXT4).

Posters and flyers will be put up across the county to raise the profile of the campaign and people can even choose to receive details of their nearest gourmet restaurant, village cafe or cosy tearoom straight to the palm of their hand.

TXT4’s handset location technology pinpoints the exact whereabouts of the respondent and matches it against a database to send an instant reply with the requested information.
