LinkNSurf.com - web content aggregator & mobile social network
I had a note from Lomesh Dutta, co-founder of Wirkle, Inc. to let me know about a new service they’ve developed. Wirkle, a mobile web 2.0 startup in Santa Clara, CA., have recently launched Link’N’surf — it’s essentially a maship of a web content aggregator and a social network for mobile devices.
Hot, I reckon. Definitely hot. I’m sure he’s batting off the investors there in Santa Clara at the moment.
The service is contained in a java applet which works for a range of popular handsets (Razrs, Sony Ericssons, Nokias and anything else that can handle MIDP2).
Link’N’Surf has a whole load of features that are absolutely wicked. First of all, you can subscribe to get updates for any of your friends blogs – MySpace, Xanga, LiveJournal, MSN Spaces, Blogger and more are supported.
That’s useful in itself. But wait 😉 There’s more! It also offers support for MySpace comments — this is a critical thing if you’re anywhere near being a regular MySpace user as it’s how most of your friends tend to communicate with you. Ergo it’s rather useful having the updates there on your handset.
You can also subscribe to Flickr (more image gallery support coming soon) so that you can keep updated what your friends are up to. The service also offers Hot or Not, Celebrity Gossip, News, Movie Reviews and Love Quotes.
I really like the concept and I’m particularly interested in the social mobile aspect of the service too — I’ve a lot more playing to do. Check it out by pointing your mobile browser to http://www.linksurf.com/download/.
