Jason Bradbury from Channel 5’s Gadget show was on-hand to work the crowd and was officially the first person into the store (with an impressive roll under the half-close shutter) shortly followed by yours truly (with a much less elegant errr crawl under the shutter).
The queue outside is growing and they are operating a one-out one-in policy on the door. Reports from other Carphone Warehouse stores are that some are already out of stock of the 16GB model and that customers can order the 16GB model for collection on Monday.
8:46am and O2’s credit checking system has died. The Carphone Warehouse guys are going to switch their systems over to their own in-house system in the next five minutes and get the sales lines back up and running.
