MIG wins contract extension with ITV

Someone was talking to me about MIG ("Mobile Interactive Group") the other day.  I can’t for the life of me remember what it was about.  There’s all sorts of lightbulbs going off in my head!

Anyway, what a coup for MIG!  Good news.  Barry Houlihan (the MD) and his team have been doing a heck of a lot of work with ITV (the largest commercial broadcaster in Europe) over the past year — including knocking up the biggest text vote in history for the recent X-Factor series.  I bet there were a fair few pennies of text revenue flying about there.

MIG also launched video blogging for them — this, I need to have more of a look at in more depth.

There’s a lot more coming to ITV Mobile — I’m particularly interested to see that you’ll soon be able to make purchases from the ITV mobile portal, plus they’ll be using SMS micro billing for ITV Broadband payments.  You know what, that makes a lot of sense.  I’ve been watching the latest episodes of Lost on Channel4’s broadband service and it’s a total arse… a TOTAL ARSE.. having to get my credit card out and type in all the details to buy a £0.99 episode.  I’d much sooner do it by mobile.  So I look forward to seeing how this is implemented.
