.mobi competition muted ;-)
Steve was reading this Register article on the .mobi advisory group plans and has been moved to act 😉
I’ve had enough of websites appearing on my various browsers that don’t conform to the way I like to see websites, and some of the content just isn’t up to what I’m used to. I was chatting to some mates down the pub yesterday and they agree that between us we need to really take over the whole internet thing and control the content that we get to see and dictate the exact format of the pages. I mean, the way the internet has just been allowed to follow free expression in order to let it grow to where it is today, well it’s just not on is it!
So I’m going to create a new organisation and call for a new TLD called dottld2.0. It will be the only tld that will work on the new browser 2.0 that we are going to create. And yes we truly believe that internet explorer will be a thing of the past once people see the true controlling nature of "browser 2.0".
All people who wish to reach browser 2.0 must redo their websites to provide a .tld20 version. We have absolutely no concept of how much that work will be but we believe the internet needs taming in its content and the way it is displayed so it must be done. And I know typing the tld is a lot of keypresses on some devices but hey, that doesn’t really matter as long as everybody with a .com goes out and buys a matching .tld20 as well then we’ll be happy.
My little group of friends and I are also now looking for companies to join our organisation to help us define exactly what we believe should appear on our browsers; membership will start at £195 per year and for this you get to make one small comment, or upto £30K per year where you get to make loads of comments and put your logo on some boxes of mints that we will give out at a couple of conferences we’re attending early next year.
Heh! 😉 Nice one!
