Mobile Choice magazine has a hot new blog look

Picture 14

There’s something rather irresitable about a blog with a nice simple, deep red header and clean interface. That’s the Mobile Choice blog, then.

The blog went live last month and is already delivering consistently. Everything they post has got that highly satisfying written-by-a-proper-journalist ring to it so I’ve had it in my feeds for a while.

I’ve been having a bit of an issue with mainstream mobile media for a while now. I think I really started developing virtual spots when I met a lady from an industry publication called ‘mobile’ at the LG Shine launch. I think I actually used the challenge/response phrase, ‘bullshit!’ when she repeated that she ‘worked for mobile’. I’d never heard of it. Goodness knows how you’re future’s going to pan out when me, with an RSS feed list that goes into the thousands and with incoming alerts and story suggestions flying into the inbox each day, hasn’t heard of you. Ever. Not once. I can’t even link to it. I don’t know what the link is.

Anyway, Mobile Choice, in contrast, is well put together — I particularly like it’s comprehensive stuff at the back of the mag featuring quick-access handset and operator reviews.

Thanks to the archives here on SMS Text News, I can tell you that the last time I bought Mobile Choice was on the 1st of August, 2006. That’s just over 13 months ago.

I have been remiss. I need to subscribe.

Strike that from the record! I have subscribed to the physical edition via mobilechoiceuk.com (fixed the link now!).
