Mobsaver.com - Amazon & Ebay price comparison
I had a note from Michael of Mobsaver.com this morning suggesting I check them out. I flicked up the browser and flew over to take a look. Mobsaver is a mobile price comparison service which specialises in comparing prices you see in store with those on Amazon and Ebay. Reaaallly good idea. First instincts are perhaps to comment, ‘what, only Amazon & Ebay?’ — But let’s be clear, they’re the benchmarks online, aren’t they? So I think it’s a smart approach.
Here’s how it works:
1. Text the item’s UPC/ISBN to save@mobsaver.com.
2. Receive new and used prices via SMS to your handset (Mobsaver queries both Amazon and Ebay). You can then evaluate whether or not you want to buy the item there and then, or get it online later.
3. When you get home, Mobsaver has all the items you’ve compared listed there for you so you don’t have to remember them when you’re out and about shopping.
Love it! Here’s what Michael & Mona, the site’s two founders say:
You’re browsing in a bookstore and there’s a couple of books that you’re interested in getting. Some of them are actually on sale but they might still be cheaper on Amazon. If only there was a quick and easy way to look up the price right there. Have you ever been in such a situation? We have.
mobsaver is our solution.
By text messaging mobsaver, you can instantly compare online vs. retail prices while you’re at the store. If you decide to buy online, you no longer have to memorize the titles and hope to still remember them by the time you get home. Simply text mobsaver, sign in when you get home, and you’ll see your saved list of items.
