Motorola L6 - ALMOST AN IMPULSE BUY!
Virgin Mobile (UK) – Shop – Find a phone – Motorola L6
“When it comes to thinness, the Motorola L6 is the out and out winner. This is no lightweight when it comes to the features….it offers Bluetooth that allows you to transfer snapshot images and other files to and from the phone. It also features some very clever power-saving technology, which only turns on the keypad’s cool-blue lights when it is absolutely necessary. “
For some reason I popped into the Virgin Megastore on Tottenham Court Road this afternoon. I thought I’d have a look through the Virgin Mobile range as it’s a while since I’ve browsed.
The model was priced at £69.99. I almost took it off the shelf and took it to the cash register. THEN I read the small print on the label. It’s £69.99 when purchased with £20 airtime. Which makes it £89.99 in total. BUT you still save a tenner against the online price here of £99 and you get the extra airtime to boot.
Well that was enough to put me off.
You know, if they’d kept it at £69.99, I’d have just bought it. Why? Well, you know what, my mobile strategy is up the creak at the moment. I’ve got a Three phone that only lets me access their approved stupid websites. I’ve got an Orange SPV600 that isn’t working because I need to sort out the direct debit. The SPV is useless when it comes to wanting to do anything funky like run Mobileglu or anything like that. Don’t think for a minute, Orange, that I’m ever going to use my SPV as a ‘music phone’, just because it’s got the play, fast forward, rewind buttons on it.
Then there’s the T-Mobile MDA. Enough said. So I’d have bought this if it was £69.99. And you know what, I’d have paid £20 or more to put some money on it, ya know, kit it out. Ahhh what a shame.
The moment has passed.
Or has it. I’m still thinking about buying it as a weekend phone.
Is this a ponce statement, or do you reckon it holds some merit? Come in it is quite a good looking phone! No? Am I confusing this with the SLVR?
