My position on 3UK: Reversed entirely to highly positive

I was taking a look at my Disclosures page and thought I had better update it.

Have a look here are what I wrote about 3UK probably in about September last year (before X-Series was even a glint in the milkman’s eye)

Three: Really, really annoy me. Untold amounts of annoyance. I extended my contract with them last year out of kindness to them. I phoned up to cancel and the chap in India half talked me round — I thought to myself, ‘Hmm, I should be supporting the industry,’ and then readily agreed to extend the contract by a year. ONLY to find out that when I wanted to use data services on the phone to try out some mobile applications (e.g. BuddyPing), Three does not support internet usage. They’ve switched it off.

Unless of course you pay £45 a month for their laptop internet connection option.

So, on your 3 mobile handset, you can only get access to the approved range of websites that 3 have deigned to allow. Pathetic. But part of their half-ridiculous ‘we are a media company’ strategy which requires you to only use their approved output.

So this is me exorcising the demons. I was pretty brutal such was my strength of feeling. 3UK: All is forgiven.

I’ve modified their entry in my Disclosures bit now.
