Napster Mobile launched on o2 Ireland's i-Mode service

Link: Netimperative – Napster Mobile debuts in Ireland

Napster is to launch its mobile service on Telefonica’s O2 mobile network in Ireland.

The move marks the digital music store’s first mobile service in Europe, following Napster Mobile partnerships with Cingular in the US and DoCoMo in Japan.

Hosted by Ericsson and featuring Napster’s catalogue of over three million full-length songs, artist images and ring tones, Napster Mobile will be available to O2 Ireland’s 1.6 million subscribers through NTT DoCoMo’s mobile internet platform i-Mode.

Well that’s rather cool. Indeed. Hmm. I hunted around for a Napster Mobile link to find out more. I’ve got lots of questions about how this actually works. I’ll keep hunting.

You know what, it’s a total arse that Napster doesn’t work on Nokias or Sony Ericssons. Look at this supported-device list. Useless. Get it working on your common-or-garden Sony Ericsson K800 or your Nokia N73 and woooooooooooooosh, that could really nail iTunes.
