Nextel and interconnection problems

Mexican trunking operator Nextel has asked telecommunications regulator Cofetel to rescind the mobile concessions contracts of three mobile operators due to their failure to follow a Cofetel order to allow SMS interconnection, local daily Milenio reported.

Absolutely amazing that we’re still seeing interconnection problems between carriers.  Whatever the reason for the Telcel, Lusacell and Unefon spat with Nextel, it’s simply not good enough to prohibit your customers from sending messages to other networks.  I hope Nextel is able to sort it out.
