Nokia aiming to add proper mobile file sharing

Nokia is making yet another mobile internet services acquisition, this time buying US mobile file-sharing startup Avvenu for an undisclosed amount. The three-year old company’s software lets people search, access and share PC files using their mobile phones, regardless of whether their computers are turned off or connected to the internet. Such operations are still missing from most mobile phones, says Nokia, which predicts that the market for mobile internet services will reach USD145bn by 2010.
Well, we’ll see.
With Nokia, I am continually living in the hope economy.
I hope they’ll integrate Avvenu nicely into their handsets. I hope my mother, my brother and my normob (normal mobile user) friends will be able to use it without a five hour lesson from me.
Could be good, could be good…
