Nokia dumps numbering strucure for naming mobile models

handset maker, said on Thursday it will give new phone models a
name rather than a number, following the success of rivals with
model names like RAZR and “chocolate.”

Is that the 6810? Or is it the 6180? Or the 7110? Who the hell knows. Not the consumers anyway. It’s about time. Nokia is finally dropping the numbers in favour of the Motorola and LG style RAZRs and Chocolates.

I think this is a good thing. As long as they’re a bit inventive with the names.
