Nott Tuesday was rocking into the night
I zoomed up to Nottingham last night courtesy of an East Midlands train that got me to The Cape bar, 23 Victoria Street, just shy of 7pm.
Nott Tuesday, brainchild of Esendex co-founder and multi-triathlon genius, Adam Bird, was conceived just a month ago to bring the technology community of Nottingham together. And it worked. In a few short weeks, Adam reached out to 60 or so of the city’s talented new media professionals. Many of whom I met last night.
I was QIK’d as I gave a background to the group about how and why I started Mobile Industry Review (or SMS Text News as it was) and then I spent a good bit of time meeting people. There were social media experts (hence the QIKing), web designers, e-commerce experts, bloggers (hello Al of coolest-gadgets.com), develops/programmers and more. All friendly, all keen to discover what each other are up to – and how they might help each other. This sort of event needs to be replicated in more cities across the country. Twitter is super, but it can’t easily match the relevance of immediate locality.
Job well done, Adam!
If you live in or around the Nottingham area, I strongly recommend going to the next one!
