Remember last week I posted about Nuance’s Mobile Dictation software beating Ben Cook, the world’s fastest texter, in a head to head race?

Well here’s the video! Just got hold of it! Pop over to this link to see the high quality stream of the event.

The Nuance software looks pretty neat — the guy doing the demonstration of the Nuance didn’t look at all flustered. He spoke clearly and he did the ‘exclamation-mark’ and ‘period’ bits whilst speaking to make sure the system correctly formatted his text. All worked. Perfectly.

Smart.

Also, you have to wonder why the world’s fastest texter is using some 1990s Kyocera piece of rubbash mobile handset. Perhaps that’s his favourite one. It just… well… you know, I expected to see him using one of the finest Nokias available to man. In fact, I expected to see Ben drapped in top of the line handsets.

Take a look at the video — it loads quick and it gives a super overview as to how Nuance’s technology works.
