Prince Harry pictured with a bog standard Vodafone Nokia
MY KINGDOM FOR A PROPER MOBILE
Prince Harry is pictured in the Telegraph with his girlfriend at the Polo yesterday. In the bottom left of the picture, you can see a bog standard Nokia handset on Vodafone propped up in front of him. I coulds see the Vodafone brand on the back of the phone and it was definitely a Nokia shape. Who knows if it’s his phone? I certainly hope not.
You can’t wander around running the country (or at least, being one of the major players) with a crappy Nokia.
To be clear, Nokia handsets are very well made — I really rate them. They make a whole range of handsets from the fancy to the plain. I’m just a bit put out that one of our Royals is wandering around with what looks like a 6200 series handset — which I cannot actually find for sale on the Vodafone site.
The nearest one to the phone shown in the shot is this Nokia 6230i.
Gahhh. It’s a BOG STANDARD Nokia. The sort of thing you’d give your grandmother.
When Prince Harry walks into the local Vodafone shop, don’t give him the shittest one in your range. Offer him a N70 or a N91 or something…anything better than a Christmas Cracker phone.
I have a real issue with young people being given ultra simple Nokias. I understand that the networks don’t want to subsidise low spending customers with good, capable handsets. But surely Vodafone could have offered him something a bit better? An N70? A blackberry, perhaps?
Or maybe it was His Highness himself who selected the rubbish handset.
The Telegraph doesn’t put its pictures online so I’m afraid I can’t link to the photo. But you can see The Sun’s coverage of the Royal couple’s ‘lingering’ kissing here.
UPDATE: Robert found the picture featured in The Telegraph on Getty Images. Here it is — note the Nokia propped up against the bottle. Nice one Robert!
