Programme your Sky+ box by text to record shows
Link: Sky let you record TV shows via SMS with Remote Record news story in Home entertainment – Pocket-lint.co.uk.
Well I’ve been after something like this for a while. Fantastic – Pocket Lint have the goss:
Launched today, the new service called Remote Record will mean that if you’re delayed on the way home, need to stay late at work or are just out and about with friends, you’ll be able to send a recording request there and then.
Here’s how you use the text version:
The text message version works with any UK-based mobile phone, users send a short message such as The Simpsons. Sky 1. 11/06. 18:30. to the dedicated “Remote Record” number 61759. Sky then automatically searches the TV listings and if a match is found a message is sent to the customers Sky+ box.
Simple enough I reckon.
I reckon I’ll have a go of the java applet though.
One stupid annoying thing about brochureware sites like the Sky+ one is that they’re updated every century or so. Absolutely no information whatsoever on the frontpage about the Sky+ mobile recording service. Ah well. All in good time, eh? Perhaps they publish on a 30 day schedule.
