Psiloc Connect does the job Nokia should have
I was nattering with Ambassador Ricky Cadden earlier. He was telling me about Psiloc Connect — the second application he installs on any Symbian handset he’s using.
Pisloc Connect manages your device internet connection intelligently, giving priority to any wireless access point for any handset connectivity, before falling back to your operator’s 3G connection.
This is a pretty compelling offering, especially if you’re being nailed to the wall by your operator for ridiculous amounts per megabyte. You can download it directly from this link — you get a 10 day free trial and then it’s roughly 7 quid or just under 10 EUROs to buy. Ricky swears by it so if you think this is up your street, take a look.
I have to wonder why this sort of prioritising isn’t built into the Nokia — much like it is the Apple iPhone. Perhaps Nokia’s customers — the mobile phone operators — wouldn’t be too keen on that.
