RIM's Blackpad rummours continue to swirl
Everywhere I look online, there are rumours, conjecture and confidently asserted reports that RIM will today introduce their much discussed commented ‘Blackpad’.
Timings might work rather nicely, given that it’s DevCon 2010 this week with CTIA ‘Fall’ (“Autumn”) following quickly afterwards.
Forbes, quoting the Wall Street Journal report last week, reckons that…
…the new gadget will have a 7-inch touch-screen – smaller than the iPad’s 9.7 inches – and at least one built-in camera.
Anecdotally, RIM are taking quite a battering in the ‘pad’ stakes, with so many executives clamouring for an iPad, the company needs to deliver some kind of alternative solution swiftly into the marketplace before enterprise IT departments get too comfortable with Apple.
I’m heading off to *the* press conference here at DevCon. There will likely be a publishing embargo — but the moment I can talk about anything, I will.
