Minister in charge of promoting entrepreneurship in central Russian province of Nizhny Novgorod, Denis Labuza, told reporters that he had learned that he was dismissed from the top government post from an SMS message, the news agency Regnum reports.

The minister said he had been on a sick leave and could not attend a regional government session where Governor Valery Shantsev harshly criticized Labuza’s ministry and ordered his dismissal.

‘As soon as the session was over SMS messages began to arrive and that was how I learned about what had happened,” the sacked official told the press.

It seems he wasn’t given formal notification of his sacking by text, but rather, those at the session reported the news to him directly by text. Mobile is a useful medium when you need to get a message through right away.
