Scary apps for Halloween
It’s Halloween tomorrow, and nowadays it seems to have become almost as popular around the world as it is in the USA. I’m in Asia right now, and I’ve already lost count of the number of people who’ve told me they’re going to a Halloween party tomorrow night.
But before the zombies, ghosts, spooks and ghouls come out to play, check out the following apps to get you in the spirit (ahem).
GhostCam
GhostCam is the perfect app to spice up your photos for Halloween and creep out your friends and colleagues. Choose a photo and insert any of the ghostly apparitions from those provided, as well as choosing the number, size and opacity of the ghosts. Simple but effective.
Scary Sounds
Pretty much what it says on the tin, Scary Sounds allows you to create dozens of eerily realistic scary sounds. How about “demonic laughter” or “barking and growling”. One to scare the kids with on Halloween…

LIMBO
LIMBO is one of the most atmospheric, and eery, apps for any time of the year, with sublime graphics and brilliant gameplay. There is a mixture of puzzles and platforming, as the main character wanders through a state of limbo to find his sister. It’s perhaps not suitable for very young children, but it’s a fascinating game that certainly has some of the best graphics and sounds of any game recently.

Make a Zombie 2
What is it with Halloween and zombies? In fact, the entertainment industry seems pretty obsessed with zombies in general, what with The Walking Dead and movies like World War Z. Thankfully, it’s easy to make your own cartoonified zombie creations with Make a Zombie. Available for iOS.
Plants vs Zombies 1/2
Plants vs Zombies on the iPad is one of the most addictive yet maddening games for Android and iOS. Pitting hordes of zombies against the resident plants, it’s a classic game pretty much the whole family will enjoy.
