Scissor Sisters are to reward fans who sign up to their campaign to stop global warming by sending them “cool” text messages.

The Take Your Mama band, who are backing charity Global Cool Foundation in its climate change fight, will deliver SMS information to those who sign up to the organisation’s ‘green’ text alerts

If you can build a reasonably sized database, you could use the medium to form and mould opinion, particularly in the event of a global warming related news story doing the rounds in the media.

I quite like what they’re doing.
