Sending a mobile video message to this blog via Abazab.com
Ah this Abazab.com is very exciting. It offers the opportunity to completely redefine a communications segment. If I or my friends have video they want me to see, it has to be uploaded to Youtube (for example) and then the link has to be blogged, or the Youtube player has to be inserted with html. Abazab removes that hassle.
Max from Abazab just sent me a video message from his mobile to my widget just now. The widget is temporarily residing here for the time being until I can figure out where to put it on the blog.
Do check out his video message and see what they’ve put together. Here’s a little screenshot:
Anyway to see the video, click here and when the Abazab widget loads, click on ‘multimedia message’ under the Comment menu. Immediately you’ll see Max’s video message.
I’m just starting to think of the various possibilities for this service. You can use your webcam to record video and while that’s useful, I think the killer is the ability to be able to do this from anywhere via mobile. For example, I was in Cannes two weeks ago on business. It was beautiful and sunny — such a difference from the weather London. I was snappying pictures like no tomorrow and whacking them straight from Cannes up to Flickr and on to my blog. With Abazab, I could send a ‘look at me poncing around on the Beach while you’re working’ video message straight into my or my friend’s Abazab widget on his blog. That rocks!
